January 23, 2001Yamaha Corporation of America, Professional Audio, announces the introduction
of the affordable, yet powerful, EMX620/AS108 powered mixer/speaker bundle at
Winter NAMM 2001. This self-contained PA system—ideal for solo performers,
bands, houses of worship, smaller venues and media presentations—is currently
available.
"Yamaha has responded to market demand for a small, portable PA system,"
states Wayne Hrabak, marketing manager, Professional Audio. "This bundle
provides users with simplicity, reliability and a minimum of labor, plenty of
power and a host of professional features."
The six-input EMX620 mixer features a single 200-watt (4-Ohm) amplifier and
built-in limiter. Channels 1-4 contain balanced XLR connectors with switchable
pads and master phantom power, plus balanced 1/4-in. jacks; inputs 5 and 6 include
two unbalanced inputs each. All channels contain two-band EQ, plus independent
monitor and effects sends. RCA connectors with separate level control for a tape
recorder or CD player are conveniently located on the front panel. A user-friendly
DSP provides a professional quality seven-band graphic equalizer and three digital
effects. The unit is housed in a rugged carpet enclosure with corner reinforcement
and side handles.
The AS108 speakers feature two-way, bass reflex design with an 8-in. low-frequency
driver and dual 1/4-in. connectors for input and pass-through. Cabinets include
a pole socket for easy mounting, as well as two bracket points for permanent installation.
Exteriors feature durable, weather-resistant coating and a single, spring-loaded
handle for easy transport.
