Multi-Effects Made Easy With the New Zoom GFX-4

(Click for a close-up)
January 18, 2001

Incorporating vintage and modern effects into a pedal-board with the simplicity of a stomp box was Zoom’s strategy when designing the new GFX-4. The pedal-board has a unique layout and an easy to use interface allowing the user to adjust parameters in each of the three effect modules in real time. Settings are shown by a graphic image in an LCD, along with effect and patch names.

Combining analog distortion circuits and Zoom’s VAMS technology (Variable Architecture Modeling System) the sound of vintage effects can be recreated with amazing realism. The patch library contains 44 distinct high-quality effect types designed to be truly useful. Amp Simulation, Overdrive, Distortion, Compression, Chorus, Phaser, Wah, Reverb, delay and Noise Reduction are a few of the available on-board effects and when combined with the use of the built-in Expression Pedal, Pickup selector and Direct Out switches the possibilities are endless.

The GFX-4 stores 60 user and 60 preset patches and is housed in a hybrid stainless steel/molded construction making the unit light yet sturdy. The inline AC adaptor is outlet friendly.

The new GFX-4 has an MSRP of $439.99.
