Retro AS-1 and Unity DS-1 Updated to Version 2.1.1

BitHeadz, Inc. has announced version 2.1.1 of the Retro AS-1 Analog Synthesizer and Unity DS-1 Digital Sampler. Version 2.1.1 will include direct support for the Roland PC-300 USB MIDI Keyboard.

"BitHeadz support for the Roland PC-300 brings the Laptop computer/MIDI keyboard combination to its most simplistic form," says Andre Rocke, Director of Marketing for BitHeadz. "One USB cable from the computer to the keyboard can supply both MIDI and power between the two devices. There are no other cables, converters, or power supplies required. It's truly as simple as plug and play."

"Plus, by having drivers for the PC-300 built into Retro and Unity, we can bypass the additional hardware and software layers usually required for USB MIDI," adds Rocke. "That means one less thing to carry to a gig, and improved responsiveness of both Unity DS-1 and Retro AS-1 during live play."

An update to Retro AS-1 will be available in January 2001. An update to Unity DS-1 will follow shortly.
