Fostex Adds an A/D to Product Line

January 24, 2001

The Fostex AC2496 24-bit A/D converter was recently introduced to add more flexibility and offer additional analog inputs when using Fostex models D 1624 or D2424.

The AC2496 converts eight analog inputs to ADAT or S/PDIF. It can add eight more analog inputs to the D1624 or 16 more to the D2424 (with the. optional 8355 eight channel A/D card) via ADAT. This allows simultaneous recording which is especially useful in live applications. With S/PDIF, two analog inputs can be converted to 24-bit / 96kHz format.

As a stand-alone converter, the AC2496 can be used as a front-end to a computer sound card or as a front–end to a digital mixer with limited analog inputs.
