A New Galaxy of Ibanez Talman Acoustic-Electrics
January 21, 2001

The Ibanez Talman acoustic-electric was designed to put the comfort and looks of an electric in the hands of the acoustic player. And obviously a lot of people wanted just that because the Ibanez Talman proved to be wildly popular after its introduction at the 2000 Winter NAMM Show. Having tested the waters with the TCY10, Ibanez is ready to take the plunge with the TCY15, a Talman about as far removed from the traditional acoustic as anything you could imagine. Not only does the TCY15 sport the untraditional Talman double cutaways, the rock and roll shaped body has been finished in sparkle finishes while the neck is fitted with triangle inlays and die-cast black tuners. "The Talmans definitely arent for the acoustic purist," said Jim Donahue of Ibanez R&D. "Theyre instruments designed for the electric player who wants to go acoustic or the acoustic player who wants to have the mobility and flash of an electric." The Talman TCY15 features a stiffer top for feedback reduction and an Ibanez piezo pickup with the AEQ201 2-band EQ. Two finishes are available, Galaxy Violet and Galaxy Magenta.
