Fourteen years after the original debut of the super slim Ibanez S guitar, Ibanez is poised to hit the music industry with a slew of new S axes. "Thats because the S has all the features the contemporary player wantscomfort, playability, versatility and lots of options in electronics, necks and hardware," said Bill Reim of Ibanez who helped design the S in 1986. "S guitars have the sustain and heavy tone of mahoganywithout the heavy weight." Over the years, the super sleek S has found adherents in every genre from rapcore to gospel and Ibanez has expanded the S into four different series: the original S, the S-Classic, the flat backed SA and the entry-level GSA. One of the most eye-catching new S models is the S370. Added Reim, "The S370 features some very cool modern finishes like our new Red Rock Flat. But the price is also going to turn some heads–a price this low, on an S of this qualityon any guitar of this qualityis unprecedented."
