Roland Introduces SPD-6 Percussion Pad

January 20, 2001

Roland is proud to introduce the SPD-6 Percussion Pad, an affordable and easy-to-use electronic percussion multi-pad which features six individual rubber pads, hand and drum stick compatibility, 113 onboard percussion and instrument sounds and MIDI output.

A compact, ultra-convenient way for musicians to add electronic percussion to live performances, the SPD-6 features onboard sounds ranging from acoustic and electronic drums to hand percussion instruments, sound effects and more. Its onboard sounds can be selected quickly, thanks to straightforward sound Bank and Number buttons. Of course, with its MIDI output, the SPD-6 can also be connected to other sound sources or phrase samplers for triggering a variety of sounds and loops on stage.

In the studio, the SPD-6 serves as a great way to program natural-sounding MIDI rhythm tracks. Users can simply send its MIDI output to an external sequencer and start playing the SPD-6 by hand or using drum sticks; natural-sounding drum tracks were never this easy.

The SPD-6 is rounded out with features including two footswitch inputs (for creating a compact drum set), a convenient toggle switch for hand/drum sensitivity selection, and optional battery power using six AA batteries.
