New Workingman's Tower from SWR

January 22, 2001

Workingman's Tower with 4004 head

SWR Sound Corporation and Francis "Rocco" Prestia, bassist with funk legends "Tower of Power", have joined forces in an effort to design and build the "ultimate" bass amplification system geared toward a moderate price point.

The "Workingman's Tower" is an 8x10 bass speaker enclosure capable of handling massive amounts of full-range power. "I wanted to hear the essence of the bass - the punch and warmth necessary to get in the pocket and create a great bass line", says Rocco. SWR President Daryl Jamison states, "We're very proud to be working with a player of Rocco's caliber, his talent and experience have given us some new avenues to explore, and we're anxious to get started on the companion head. We believe this system will be embraced by all players, regardless of style, and we think it will be some of the best sounding gear we've ever offered."

SWR expects to ship the Workingman's Tower in the first quarter of 2001.
