beyerdynamic has announced the expansion of the Opus line of microphones, introduced during 2000. Two percussion microphones have been added. The Opus 62 is a high performance, low profile clip-on dynamic microphone designed for rack tom and percussion applications. The capsule is attached to a four-inch gooseneck and is externally shock isolated to prevent excessive transient response. A neodymium element provides increased output, while a tight polar pattern enhances off-axis noise rejection. Pro User Net on the Opus 62 is $199.00, $279 Canadian. The Opus 66 is a superior low profile percussion microphone using advanced materials to withstand the impact of highly energetic percussionists. The Opus 66 eliminates the need for microphone stands, as it is equipped with a newly introduced universal drum mount. The microphone is housed within a rocking arm for further flexibility and ideal positioning. The Opus 66 has an internal shock mount to reduce unwanted transient noise and features a neodymium element for high output. Pro User Net on the Opus 66 is $259, $369 Canadian. The Opus line of microphones by beyerdynamic comprises three vocal microphones and five instrument microphones. The microphones will be available for live demonstration at beyerdynamics booth, 6840, in Hall A of the convention center. For more information, visit their web site at http://www.beyerdynamic.com/.
