Allen & Heath Debuts ML3000 Live Sound Console

January 18, 2002

Allen & Heath, a U.K.-based manufacturer of professional audio mixing consoles, introduces the ML3000, a new live sound console for mid-range PA/AV rental and installation work.

The 15-buss live sound VCA console is designed to produce high quality VCA automation and is equipped with the LCRplus panning system that uses blend and pan controls on the inputs and groups to allow signal positioning anywhere across the center and LR busses.

The ML3000 is affordable and features exclusive technology, such as an intelligent P/AFL system that gives the operator efficient PFL and stereo in-place AFL monitoring. The master section contains an "engineer's toolbox" that provides additional functions such as intercom, oscillator, pink noise generator, headphones and wedge monitor controls.

With eight VCA groups and an LCR panning system, the ML3000 has multiple advanced features including 4 audio groups, 8 mute groups, 8 pre/post switchable auxes, 2 dual stereo channels and a four-band EQ that gives the console a "responsive" feel with separate controls for sweep and cut/boost on mid bands. The new VCA console has the power to store 128 snapshot memories via mid/RS232 using Allen & Heath's downloadable Archiver software.

The fully equipped ML3000 brings sophisticated signal imaging within reach for smaller shows. The simple control layout is easy to use, and has been built using 16-gauge panels and aluminum beams, vertically mounted to the front panel with rotary controls. Combined with its powerful features, the ML3000 is an advanced yet affordable choice for live sound consoles. Shipping began in November 2001, with 24, 32 and 40 channel versions available.
