Alvarez and Alvarez Yairi Guitars have announced the introduction of two limited edition guitars being issued to commemorate the 80th anniversary of St. Louis Music.
The Alvarez Yairi WY80 ($2999.00 list), based on the best selling Alvarez Yairi WY1, is a handmade folk-sized guitar with rounded cutaway featuring a solid spruce top matched to solid Brazilian rosewood sides and back in a natural gloss finish. The mahogany neck features a fingerboard crafted from Brazilian rosewood with the "Tree of Life" elaborately inlaid with green abalone shell. The headstock features green abalone shell inlay with gold plated tuning machines. The body edges feature binding of green abalone shell and also around the soundhole rosette. The Alvarez Yairi WY80 features the Alvarez System 600T preamp system, which was designed to offer the finest acoustic guitar tone reproduction available. The System 600T provides a broad range of sonic control and mixing capability allowing the player to utilize different combinations of piezo, magnetic, microphone transducers, and features the convenience of an on-board digital chromatic tuner.
The Alvarez SLM80 ($1999.00 list), based on the Alvarez MD90, is a dreadnought sized guitar featuring a solid spruce top matched to solid rosewood sides and back with a natural gloss finish. The mahogany neck features a fingerboard crafted of rosewood with the "Tree of Life" elaborately inlaid with green abalone shell. The headstock features green abalone shell inlay with gold plated tuning machines. The body edges feature binding of green abalone shell and also around the soundhole rosette.
Production of the Alvarez Yairi WY80 and the Alvarez SLM80 is limited to 80 guitars apiece and are available by custom order only.
