Audio-Technica is displaying their Freeway Professional UHF Wireless Systems at this year's Winter NAMM Session. Representing an exciting range of frequency-agile UHF wireless, Freeway systems provide interference-free performance and exceptional audio quality in a wide variety of applications such as live performance, houses of worship, public address and aerobic instruction.

Available in handheld, headworn, lavalier, guitar, and body-pack configurations, the new Freeway systems feature ten selectable UHF channels, a removable docking power supply, and an advanced dipole antenna design. Two independent frequency bands allow operation for up to eight simultaneous channels: Band A: 470-480 MHz (TV channels 14-15) and Band B: 482-492 MHz (TV channels 16-17).

Each Freeway UHF Wireless system includes the ATW-R600 receiver and either a body-pack transmitter or a handheld microphone/transmitter. The ATW-R600 is a 10-channel frequency-agile receiver with an advanced dipole antenna design and a unique removable docking power supply that slides into the receiver. For greater flexibility, the power adapter can be easily removed from the receiver case and used as a conventional in-line AC adapter. The ATW-R600 also includes squelch and volume controls, along with AF Peak, RF and Power indicator lights.

The ATW-T601 UniPak transmitter, included with all Freeway body-pack systems, features a professional locking HRS-type connector and a dual-impedance input for instruments and microphones. Four body-pack system configurations are available: the ATW-601 UniPak system (includes receiver and UniPak transmitter only), the ATW-601/G Guitar system with AT-GCW guitar cable, the ATW-601/H Headworn system with PRO 8HEcW microphone, and the ATW-601/L Lavalier system with AT829cW microphone. A wide selection of Audio-Technica Wireless Essentials microphones and cables is available for use with all Freeway body-pack systems.

The ATW-T602 handheld dynamic microphone/transmitter is included with the ATW-602 system. Both the handheld and body-pack transmitters operate on a single 9-volt battery, and feature a battery-condition indicator light, a three-position Off/Standby/On switch, an internal channel selector and a variable trim control.
