BEHRINGER introduces the all-new ULTRATWIN GX210 (price tba) and ULTRATWIN GX212 (price tba). Designed in collaboration with professional artists and amp-tuning experts, the GX210 and GX212 combine authentic classic guitar amp sound with the latest DSP technology. In the fine American tradition, the ULTRATWINs combine the tonal qualities of legendary twin amps supported by genuine Jensen speakers with revolutionary flexibility of tone and comprehensive I/O options including MIDI, plus built-in 24-bit stereo digital effects.
The GX212 sports a powerful 2 x 60-Watt RMS stereo amp with enough clout to drive external cabinets, and two channels with separate volume, EQ and effects settings. The GX210 features a 2 x 30-Watt RMS stereo amp and separate volume and effects settings for each channel with the same 3-band EQ in the master section. Both ULTRATWINs also feature an onboard stereo digital effects unit with 31 algorithms and 99 editable presets. Perfect simulation of tube-specific nuances makes up for typical tube amp drawbacks such as short service life and poor mechanical stability. In addition, the ULTRATWINs' user interfaces provide intuitive operation.
The clean channel on both amps ranges from pristine clean to slightly distorted tube sounds, while the overdrive channel offers an equally broad range of tube-like, warm overdrive to more aggressive drive (crunch) . MORPHING control allows for tone shaping in the overdrive channel. State-of-the-art effects such as chorus, compressor, delay, phaser, pitch shifter, reverb, rotary speaker, wah and various effect combinations add to the attractive package, while three FX parameters per preset can be edited via dedicated controls, thus enabling quasi-analog operation.
On the connection side, a MIDI interface for remote channel and preset selection plus real-time parameter control enables total control of parameters and presets. A stereo aux in and frequency-corrected line out are welcome add-ons for recording and live applications, while an additional speaker output allows connection of speaker cabinets. In addition, the great-sounding frequency-corrected stereo headphones output makes it a pleasure to practice at home.
