Unity 3.0 Session Announced for Mac OS X and OS 9

BitHeadz, Inc announced "Unity 3 Session", MSRP $649.00. The new product combines and expands upon Unity DS-1 and Retro AS-1, BitHeadz music software for Mac & PC.
The new 3.0 plug-in architecture allows the combination of sampling, synthesis, and physical modeling, with extensive real-time audio manipulation features. The new multi-synthesized sounds are now called 'Instruments' and can be edited and later accessed by third party sequencers via MIDI like a standard Unity Program.
Unity Session 3.0 enhances the sampling capabilities of Unity DS-1 v. 2.0 to include playback of samples loaded into RAM while simultaneously streaming larger samples off the hard drive.
According to President Steve O'Connell, "Unity 3.0 Session was designed to provide the best of BitHeadz technology in one package. BitHeadz, Inc. will release OS X and OS 9 versions of "Unity Session" that will include gigabytes of sound libraries."
Unity Session's powerful editing features are complemented by the ability to convert multiple sample formats such as GigaSampler, SoundDesigner 2, Akai, Unity DS-1, Retro AS-1, Phrazer, AIFF, .wav, DLS, SoundFonts, and Roland. Any sounds that are stored on a network, or removable media can be found and loaded quickly into Unity Session using a new keyword search function.
Sequencer compatibility has been enhanced. Unity Session will now detect MAS, VST, RTAS or DirectConnect, automatically. Version 3 of Unity DS-1 ($449) and Retro AS-1 ($259) will also be released.
