New Software for All CreamWare DSP Systems January 19, 2002
CreamWare presents software version 3.1 for all products belonging to the
SCOPE Fusion Platform family. With version 3.1, the product palette is
completely restructured and the basic set of system functions is now
entirely uniform across all systems. In the uncompromising continued
development of this successful DSP platform, intuitive and convenient
operation has been given highest priority.
The systems Luna II, PowerSampler II, Pulsar XTC, Pulsar II, PowerPulsar
and SCOPE /SP are all based on the SCOPE Fusion Platform. Each product
combines an extensive software package with a PCI card that furnishes the
system with inputs and outputs (optional with Pulsar XTC) as well as DSP
computing power.
Starting with version 3.1, all systems are equipped with the same basic
software. Its central operating element is the newly developed Live Bar,
which ensures seamless cooperation with any desired recording program. The
entire SCOPE setup can be controlled from the Live Bar. You use it to
select instruments, dial in sounds, open mixers and set up signal routings.
If desired, the compact Live Bar window can be made to overlay your audio
sequencer, so that you always have all of your SCOPE studio tools within
quick reach.
This new approach to the integration of DSP system features now makes it
possible to exploit the true advantages of DSPs to their fullest extent ?
even when using them in the context of a native audio system: virtual
studio tools behave exactly like external hardware equipment, software
instruments can be played without any latency whatsoever and monitoring is
done without the slightest delay. It is also possible to integrate external
studio equipment live into the audio sequencer. For example, you can route
a microphone through the SCOPE DSP effects in realtime, or you can send
audio tracks from your recording software out to an external 19" effects
rack for processing and back again ? likewise in realtime.
Other noteworthy features of the new basic software are the XTC mode, which
allows the SCOPE studio tools to be used just like VST plug-ins, and a
collection of professional DSP plug-ins. This collection boasts both
recording and surround mixers, 15 DSP effects ? including the high-quality
MasterVerb reverb - and a number of additional studio tools.
In addition to the basic software, the systems comprise a set of
appropriately tailored software packages and assortments of DSP plug-ins
for mixing, effects processing, synthesis, sampling, mastering and signal
routing. All SCOPE Fusion platform products are fully compatible with one
other and very flexibly expandable. If you find that you need additional
studio tools, more I/Os or expanded computing power, the systems can grow
along with your requirements.
Beginning in March 2002, all new CreamWare DSP systems will be equipped
with the new SCOPE Fusion Platform software 3.1. Each package includes both
a Windows and a Macintosh version. Owners of Luna, Power Sampler, Elektra,
Pulsar XTC, Pulsar or Power Pulsar with version 3 software or higher can
update free of charge. The update to the new software is gratis for all
users of SCOPE /SP as well.
