Cycling '74 Announces Pluggo 3.0MAX4/MSP2 Support, over twenty virtual instruments, and RTAS support January 17, 2002
Cycling '74 has announced Pluggo 3.0, a new version of its native audio processing plug-in software for VST, MAS, and RTAS audio applications.
Pluggo 3 makes full use of the new and improved Max4/MSP2 audio programming environment, and includes an expanded version of the Essential Instruments collection, a set of elegant and immediately effective instruments created by MES, the developers of the iSynth--bringing the Pluggo collection to over 100 versatile and unique plug-ins.
Pluggo effects include filtering, delay effects, distortion, granular synthesis and spectral modification, audio routing, sampling and synthesis, reverb, and sound localization. In addition, Pluggo offers modulation, synchronization, and audio and control routing capabilities between plug-ins.
The Pluggo 3 collection includes over 19 virtual instruments, from the characteristically Midwestern self-effacement of the Pretty Good Synth, to additive synths, analog-modeling drum and percussion synths, sampling, granular synthesis, FM synthesis, wavetable synthesis, and waveshaping modules. Users can seamlessly combine these exciting new instruments with Pluggo effects plug-ins and modulator plug-ins for a world of inexhaustible sonic possibilities.
For the first time, Pluggo 3 allows Max4/MSP2 users to host Pluggo plug-ins and virtual instruments in their Max/MSP patches and Max/MSP-built standalone applications. Pluggo 3 also adds support for the Digidesign Real Time Audio Suite (RTAS) format, allowing Pro Tools users to join the Pluggo excitement already in progress.
Pluggo 3 users who want to build their own plug-ins entirely from scratch can create them using Cycling '74's Max/MSP software. Support for effects automation, parameter management, presets, and undo is provided in the development environment.
Pluggo 3.0 will be available March 2002. List price is $199. An upgrade for current Pluggo and Max/MSP owners is $59
Max4/MSP2 is available now from Cycling '74 for $495. Demo versions, purchases and upgrades are available online.
