E-MU has announced the release of a new line of keyboard products, the PK-6, XK-6, and MK-6. Each of these 61 note keyboards retails for $1,295 and feature E-MU's newest, most powerful sound engine, (the same one that powers the new Proteus 2500 module). These keyboards all feature 64 voice polyphony, four 24 bit audio outputs, four real time control knobs adjusting 16 parameters, sound 16 simultaneous syncable arpeggiators, 50 types of 6th/12th order filters, Super Beats mode for interactive groove creation, and the fastest processor yet available in an E-MU product.

PK-6

Available in February, the PK-6 contains the acclaimed 32MB Proteus "Composer" ROM, featuring 512 new presets covering all the sounds needed for performing, orchestration, and composition. The PK-6 is user expandable to 128MB of ROM utilizing the library of 11 32MB Proteus ROM's. The PK-6 features a host of new Super Beats that can be manipulated in real time for live performance as well as to inspire the user to create and compose.

Available in April and following in the footsteps of the Orbit & XL-1 sound modules, The XK-6 features an all new sound set that is designed for the Euro / electronica market. XK-6 features 512 presets, Super Beats, 16 simultaneous syncable arpeggiators, 50 types of 6th/12th order filters, 4 real time control knobs and a simple but powerful user interface that allows instant access to many synthesizer parameters. "The XK-6 is a powerful synthesizer that can be used to create complex synth sounds along with complex arpeggiated patterns that all sync via MIDI," remarked Sean Wilhemsen, Director of Product Development.

MK-6

Available in April/May and in the same mode as the Planet Phatt and Mo' Phatt modules, the MK-6 is focused on Urban, Rap, R&B, and Hip Hop musical styles. The MK-6 contains all of the above features, and features 512 new presets and an arsenal of Super Beats.

"The PK, XK, & MK-6 offer pro sound quality and performance previously unheard of at the price," says Scott Emmerman, VP Sales & Marketing, Americas. By adding expansion ROM's or by authoring their own custom flash ROM's (via any Emulator ULTRA sampler), users can customize any of these keyboards, enabling them to be the only keyboard they ever need to take to the studio or to the gig," Scott adds.
