E-Mu Announces 30th Anniversary Proteus 1000

February 1, 2002Celebrating their 30th anniversary and the shipment of the 50,000th Proteus
2000 product, E-MU has announced the release of the Proteus 1000 sound module. The Proteus 1000 is a
64-voice version of the Proteus 2000 module that was first introduced in October 1998.
Proteus 1000 Hits New Price Point
"The Proteus 1000's $795 retail price and expected street price of $599 will put the powerful Proteus sound
engine within reach of new, budget-minded customers," said Scott Emmerman, VP of Sales and Marketing,
Americas. "Until now, the acclaimed Proteus "Composer" sound set had been available only in the Proteus 2000
and 2500 sound modules. With the release of the Proteus 1000, this sound set is now available in an affordably
priced product that should prove to be a very popular entry level, yet still professional, sound module."

The Proteus 1000 features 64 voices of polyphony, 32 MB of ROM containing 1024 presets (user expandable to
64 MB, utilizing any of the eleven 32 MB Proteus expansion ROMs), stereo 24-bit audio outputs, dual stereo
24-bit effects processors, and 4 real-time controller knobs assignable to 12 parameters.
