Bartolini Electronics Added to Ibanez BRB1000 and BTB500

The 2002 Ibanez BRB1000 and BTB500 series basses will be equipped with custom-designed Bartolini pickups. The same basses will also feature a custom-designed Bartolini 3-band eq, which utilizes 18-volt operation for greater headroom.
But there's something else that makes it all the more interesting. "No price increase," said Ritchie Umemura of the Ibanez Bass Division. "The models that get the upgrade will be at the same list price as last year. Since Bartolini electronics do not come cheaply that should turn a few heads."
Mr. Umemura added that the Soundgear 3000 series basses would also feature a custom designed Bartolini pickups although a different pickup than the BTB since the more traditional BTB's are very different basses from the sleek and slender Soundgears. For that reason the Soundgear basses will continue feature the Ibanez Vari-Mid EQ with sweepable midrange since that eq was designed specifically for the Soundgear.
Both BTB and Soundgear models are available in four, five and six-string versions.
