PRESS RELEASE

KP Series Added to Moses' Upright Bass Lineup

January 29, 2002

Using advanced materials with integrated design, the KP Series Basses are lightweight and well balanced--no hands are required to balance the instruments against your body.

The physical dimensions are smaller than any other electric upright produced, while maintaining tremendous playability. The padded gig bag with the instrument inside is only 52" long by 7" wide by 5" deep! The result is the performance and sound of a high quality upright in a package that is much easier to move than an electric bass.

Along with the step-up-to stand, we also offer a portable stand (3"x 4" x 27" collapsed), which allows you to easily and safely set the bass aside when it is not in use.

The uprights feature the unique MOSES Air Coupled Sensor (ACS) pickup system. No alteration to the bass or amplification is required when changing between pizzicato and arco playing techniques. The MOSES Air Coupled Sensor is located at the bridge and allows pick-up via air-coupling within a contained chamber mechanism. The sensors are activated by the vibrating air. The major result of this controlled chamber system is the sensing of the same natural instrument tone that the human ear hears while getting rid of the problems of feedback. Essentially introducing an air chamber directly in line with the sound energy rounds and sweetens the signal. The ACS System is a simple, predictable and easy-to-use way to deliver natural sounding results without feedback. MOSES compliments the ACS System with the MOSES/LACE sensor acoustic bass magnetic pickup.
