Peavey's XXL head is an amp that looks like the Triple XXX and sounds like a tube amp, but comes with a moderate price and TransTube technology.
Geared to the heavy metal, classic rock and alternative music scene, this amp delivers the sound, high output, warmth and "push back" of a tube amplifier, utilizing solid-state construction.
With a three-channel preamp feeding a 100-Watt output stage, the XXL supplies the multiple personalities necessary for a versatile performance in today's rock music. Six different style switches help you tailor your tone to fit any style of playing. The amp's variable-dampening feature lets you duplicate the reactive relationship of various tube-amp output stage and speaker enclosure designs.
