PRESS RELEASE

Access to Create Virtual Synths for TC's PowerCore

January 25, 2002

The ACCESS Virus is one of the most successful analog modeling synthesizers for dance music production. The product's reputation for convincing sound, usability and quality quickly established the company as a leading manufacturer. The current product generation is also available for users of the Pro Tools system.

With the release of TC PowerCore Version 1.5, virtual instruments have been enabled on TC PowerCore -- putting ACCESS into a position to evaluate the platform.

"DSP-Accelerators such as TC PowerCore are a great possibility for a hardware company like ACCESS to develop software versions for the virtual studio", says Christoph Kemper, CEO of ACCESS. "What's more, the TC PowerCore employs the same Motorola Hi-End DSPs as our products -- therefore also the development risk for us is fairly low. Motorola DSPs represent an industry standard for audio products, being used by many companies like Antares, Lexicon, Digidesign, TC and Waves -- so we can be sure the DSP environment will always be up-to-date."

"In spite of the ever-faster host CPU's I don't believe that a native-only solution will be able to fulfill all the user's needs for a long time to come." Kemper continues," Many people tend to forget that performance restrictions still require a lot of compromises. Very often the possibilities of Digital Signal Processing are not being utilized to its full."

"With this announcement we would like to send a clear signal to the market. DSP-platforms such as TC PowerCore are very viable concepts and we will strongly support them!" finishes Mr. Kemper.

ACCESS is in the process of reviewing the TC PowerCore platform at the moment, detailed product plans will be announced at a later point.

A release date has not been scheduled yet.
