Zildjian Announces Travis Barker Artist Series Drumsticks

January 18, 2002

The Avedis Zildjian Company, announces the introduction of the Travis Barker Artist Model drumstick to their popular Artist Series line of drumsticks. Travis is the high profile drummer with the popular band Blink 182. Travis is currently on tour with Blink 182 supporting their platinum album, "Take off Your Pants and Jacket."

Travis' model combines long length for reach and strong throw as well as a moderate taper and beefy neck and shoulder. The tip is a full-sized round wood type for full cymbal and drum tones. The stick is 16 3/8 inches long and 0.595 inches in diameter. Travis' Model also features a highly visible Red, White and Blue graphic treatment. The stick is covered in a bright White stain and the printed logo is two colors, Red and Blue Metallic featuring Travis' "Ransom note" artwork and a silver star on the flat butt end. The stick is constructed from 100% US Select Hickory at the Zildjian Stick Factory in Moundville, Alabama.

The stick is designed for the speed and precision that Travis is known for within Blink and his previous project The Aquabats. It offers the heft necessary to withstand the rigors of a high energy Blink 182 live show.

According to Zildjian's Assistant Product Manager of Drumsticks, Rick Kenney, "Travis needs a stick that can keep up with him and still take the punishment that he hands out. He's got a style all his own, and now, a stick to match."

Travis joins the already impressive lineup of Artist Series Models including John Otto (Limp Bizkit), John Tempesta (Rob Zombie), Tre Cool (Green Day) and Matt Sorum (The Cult).

List price is $14 per pair.
