E-MU / ENSONIQ has announced the release of the ENSONIQ Halo keyboard. Halo will retail for $1,295 and will be distributed through a new network of ENSONIQ. Halo features 61 keys, 64-voice polyphony, 32 MB of ROM featuring the Perfect Piano by William Coakley (user expandable to 128 MB), 24-bit audio outputs, 4 real-time control knobs that can adjust 12 parameters, and SuperBeats Mode for interactive groove creation. The user interface was created to allow easy operation and quick access to all editing parameters.

ENSONIQ Line

Halo is the first in a planned line of new ENSONIQ keyboards that feature familiar ENSONIQ sound and value, combined with E-MU technology and reliability. "We wanted to offer musicians a great sounding keyboard product at an affordable price," says Sean Wilhemsen, Director of Product Development. "Halo utilizes the E-MU Proteus family of eleven 32 MB expansion ROMs wherein a customer can add thousands of sounds, from high quality Orchestral instruments to World, Synthesizer, Electronica or Hip Hop sounds, in minutes."
