Ibanez Expands AE Acoustic Electric Line

The slim bodies and easy playing necks have been trademakrs of the Ibanez AE Acoustic-Electrics. For 2002, Ibanez is adding a slew of new AE models including–to name but a few– a new bass and even an AE that's not slim.

At the top of the line is a new flagship model, the AEF37TCS whose beauty is a result of abalone inlays on a guitar of quilted maple highlighted by a Trans Cherry Sunburst finish. But despite the luxury appointments, this is a working animal: the guitar features the Ibanez Shape Shifter EQ, Fishman Sonicore pickup and both balanced XLR and 1/4" outputs.

Although AE has been synonymous with slim, everything changes and Ibanez has added the new AEL (L for large) guitars which were designed for both plugged and unplugged performance.

To handle the low end, Ibanez has added the new very affordable AEB10BK 4- string acoustic-electric bass to its existing slightly more expensive 4 and 5 string models.
