Korg Introduces New Options for PA-80

January 19, 2002

Korg announces the release of two new Flash Memory products for the PA-80 – a TURKISH/ARABIC expansion card (RMP-PCM02) and an 8Mbytes Flash ROM Card (FMC-8MB). The PA-80 is Korg's top of the l ine professional arranger keyboard, and shares the same synth engine as Korg's flagship TRITON workstation.

The TURKISH/ARABIC expansion card follows on the heels of last year's REAL DRUMS (FMC-PCM01). In addition to 32 authentic Styles (each featuring up to 8 parts), the new card also features two new Turkish drum kits. Users can create their own songs and styles using the card's 190 percussion samples (Djembe, Sagruta, Tabel, Tablas and more) and over a dozen instrument multi-samples (Megwez, Zorna, Sas and more). These high quality samples faithfully preserve all the tonal qualities of the original instruments.

Since the PA-80 Version Three software offers user sampling, an option that supports this feature is now available. The new FMC-8MB provides 8Mb of Flash ROM designed to store PA-80 Styles, Programs and Samples.

Both options are available immediately, with pricing as follows:

  • RMP-PCM02 $350 List Price
  • FMC-8MB $200 List Price

Additional information can be found on a dedicated PA-80 website, www.korgpa80.com.
