Peavey Announces V-Type EXP Guitar

January 22, 2002

Peavey announced the hard-rocker V-Type EXP guitars, in two models: the tremolo and the string-thru body. These guitars are geared to the extreme player with high output pickups and a neck that caters to fast finger work.

This EXP version is designed in the United States but manufactured in Korea, making it the most affordable option in the series. Still, the V-Type EXP maintains the durability, reliability and quality that you have come to expect from Peavey products.

Both EXP-version guitars feature a 13-degree, pitched, reverse headstock with six-in-line tuners. This headstock design is attached to a neck with a 24 1/2" scale, and 24 jumbo frets on a rosewood fretboard with a 15" radius for lightning-fast lead work. The neck also features a dual-expansion truss rod for easier, more accurate neck adjustments.

The high-output, aggressive sound is courtesy of a bridge-position humbucking pickup with ceramic magnets and a dual-blade ceramic neck humbucker. These pickups are wired to a three-way switch, enabling the musician to extract a wide-range of tones.

The guitar's body wood is alder. Both models come in pewter gray, flat black, flat tangerine and transparent blue.
