12" Mastersound Hi-Hats Added to A. Custom Range

January 19, 2002

Zildjian has announced the introduction of it's newest innovation; 12" A Custom Mastersound HiHats as part of the 10th Anniversary celebration of the A Custom cymbal range.

Zildjian's new 12" A Custom Mastersound HiHats are the first 12" HiHats to feature the extremely popular Mastersound hammering technology. Because of their size, the new Mastersound HiHats are high pitched, but the Mastersound hammering allows the cymbals to breathe for a clean and cutting chick sound. These HiHats can be used in a variety of studio and live settings. Like all A Custom models the new 12" A Custom Mastersound HiHats are available in a Brilliant Finish.

"The new 12" A Custom Mastersound HiHats are an extremely focused, bold and crisp sounding set of HiHats", said Zildjian R&D Manager Paul Francis. "Most 12" HiHats on the market today sound thin, dull and tinny, but these are the best sounding pair of 12" HiHats that I have ever heard".

Developed with the assistance of drumming virtuoso and recording legend Vinnie Colaiuta, the Award-winning A Custom cymbal range utilizes radical rotary hammering techniques, thin weights and a striking brilliant finish for a crisp, sweet, sophisticated A Zildjian sound. Not too dark, not too bright – cymbals that are just right for modern music.

The A., Custom Mastersound HiHats carry a list price of $340/pair. Tops and bottoms are also available individually, listing at $170 each.
