PRESS RELEASE

ME-50 Multi-Effects Processor Debuts at NAMM

January 16, 2003

BOSS is proud to announce the new ME-50 Guitar Multiple Effects. This floor-based unit puts some of BOSS' most powerful effects in a rugged metal case with an onboard expression pedal, three footswitches and dedicated knobs for each effects section--making it one of the most intuitive multi-effects processors ever. Thirty Preset Patches deliver everything from delay, modulation, reverb and compression to powerful COSM overdrive and distortion effects.

Instead of a menu-driven display, the ME-50 features dedicated knobs for each effect section--making it easier than ever to dial in the right tone. The ME-50's effects include compression, analog-type delay, flanger, phaser, tremolo, Harmonist, Uni-V and an amazing new Rotary effect. Three footswitches make it easy to kick effects on and off, while an onboard expression pedal handles everything from simple volume control to six Preset expression routings including wah, resonance, voice, ring mod and octave up or down.

Designed for use with an amp, the ME-50 uses its COSM processing to deliver some new overdrive and distortion models, derived from the OD-20 DriveZone. There's even a "Square" effect for synth-type sounds. Other convenient features include an onboard tuner and Memory function for changing Patches using the three footswitches and Bank Up/Down buttons.

Connections to the ME-50 include a 1/4-inch guitar input, two 1/4-inch outputs, a Headphones jack, Footswitch input, and DC input for use with the included power supply. The ME-50 can also be run on battery power.
