Dynaudio Acoustics Expands the AIR Platform
with AIR 20

Dynaudio Acoustics introduced the AIR 20, the latest addition to the revolutionary AIR Series and the first 3-way design to take advantage of AIR technology. Combining brand new Dynaudio 221 (two-to-one) technology with digital TC technology, the AIR 20 defines new standards for performance and precision in 3-way powered monitors. AIR 20 integrates into any AIR network and thus provides all the features and system conveniences known from the AIR 6 and AIR 15 systems.
Integrating unique Tweeter and Midrange technology, the new 221 design offers superior control of directivity and thus minimizes reflection effects from your console, floor or similar planes. Essentially beaming the details to the sweet-spot, the 221 technology is a significant contributor to the outstanding transparency, image and depth an AIR 20 provides. The Tweeter part utilizes a 1.1" Softdome, a 1.1" aluminum voice coil and an oversized neodymium magnet system while the Midrange-driver is built around a
one-piece molded polypropylene 5.5" cone. In addition to the 221 technology, the efficiency of the new AIR 20 module is characterized by high dynamic capabilities and extreme headroom. To complement the lowest frequencies, the AIR 20 features a 10" woofer utilizing a one-piece molded polypropylene cone and a 4" aluminum voice coil.
The AIR 20 adds 3-way refinement to the AIR Series - a range of intelligent monitor systems using new innovative technology to push the boundaries for monitor performance. While precision DSP filtering and PWM amplification adds to the precision and dynamic capabilities of AIR monitors, it is the intelligent TC LINK network that allows AIR to introduce a new level for operation convenience to the speaker world. Central remote control, preset storage and recall, extensive alignment flexibility, and ultimate precision are just some of the numerous advantages offered by the AIR series. Another major leap forward is the added possibilities for optimizing performance in
different Acoustical environments. Internal precision EQ's and delay lines (accessible from the dedicated Installers PC Package) allow not only for improved sound quality, but also for more consistent speaker performance in different acoustical environments.
Configurable in both stereo and 5.1 monitoring setups, AIR Series monitors are matched and interchangeable out of the box and provide full system integration and networking capabilities, enabling Total Recall and central control functions. They have been developed specifically to comply with the demands arising from 5.1 productions in any application, from the Film, Post, and Broadcast industries to DVD, Mastering and Recording studios.
