Generalmusic Expands Genesys Line

(Click for a close-up)
January 16, 2003

GEM broke new ground with the Genesys by offering consumers a built in CDR drive in an arranger keyboard. Play, accompany MP3's, sing and hard disk record everything -- then burn your track to CD. It's that simple.

Geneys PRO offers the same advanced Genesys feature set without the built in amplification and speakers, all designed in a new, stylish sleek cabinet structure. Genesys was the first ever arranger keyboard to feature an MP3 player, hard disk audio recorder and recordable CD drive. The Genesys Pro offers over 1300 startlingly realistic presets including "real sounds" and over 300 accompaniment styles .

MIDI sequencing (internal 250,000 events) is just the starting point for this innovative keyboard. Imagine "ripping" an MP3 or CD track, removing the vocal and playing along with the built-in keyboard styles and sounds, or a guitar (or anything else that makes sound) through the Genesys' audio inputs, singing along through 4 part harmonizer and recording it all to the internal hard disk. With the push of the "Write CD" button the CD burner jumps into action. You may find yourself wondering why all of this was so difficult in the past, and required a lot of time, expense and external hardware.

Some of the additional features include flash operating system, video and lyric output, a wide range of loadable MIDI and Sample formats (including Piano Disk , Disklavier , General MIDI, General MIDI 2, SMF 0, 1, 1+lyrics, MP3, MP3+lyrics, Akai , Kurzweil , wav, smp, snd, kar, box.
