Gibson USA introduces four new looks on the popular Les Paul Studio model, including a limited edition with a certified, environment-friendly swamp ash body.
"The Studio has become a favorite among guitarists who like to trade off some of the more traditional Les Paul appointments for cool, new combinations of features," says Henry Juszkiewicz, Gibson chairman and CEO. "With these new Studios, players get the best of all worlds -- a unique look, Les Paul performance and the Studio's tradition of affordability -- for an unbeatable value."
Gibson is offering Studios in white finishes for the first time since the mid-1990s. The Alpine White version comes with gold-plated hardware, and the Classic White has chrome-plated hardware. The Fireburst finish -- a "hotter," tri-color version of Gibson's vintage sunburst -- makes its first appearance on a Studio, available with gold-plated or chrome-plated hardware. All have full-sized trapezoid fingerboard inlays and Alnico humbucking pickups.
The Les Paul Studio Limited features a carved swamp ash top and body with a satin finish to bring out the natural beauty of the wood. The ebony fingerboard has no inlay, further enhancing the natural look. Gibson USA will produce as many Swamp Ash guitars as the company's supply of certified wood will allow.
