Ibanez Artwood Acoustic Flagship
UnveiledAW1050CERLG Is First Artwood With Solid Top, Back, and Sides January 20, 2003
Artwood, Ibanez' best selling line of mid-priced acoustics, gets an upscale addition for 2003, the AW1050LG acoustic-electric. The new Artwood flagship model has the hallmark Artwood feature of a solid top, but the back and sides are also solid (mahogany) which makes it the first all solid wood Artwood model. Plus the AW1050CERLG is the first full production Artwood model not to feature a spruce top. Instead the AW1050CERLG has a very warm, very resonant top of Western Canadian red cedar.
In the electronics department, the AW1050CERLG features the Fishman Acoustic Matrix bridge pickup and the Fishman Prefix Plus EQ.
Says Irene Schvartsman of the Ibanez Acoustic Division, "We intend to keep--carefully--expanding the Artwood line. The previous additions of the AW10's extended the Artwood into the more affordable price ranges. The new AW1050LG takes the Artwood line further into the professional regions. It's a super resonant, great playing axe that still has Artwood's superior value."
