New Ibanez SZ Line Offers Set-In Necks and Simplicity
January 20, 2003
The new Ibanez SZ guitar is a descendent of the super-slim Ibanez S, but it really is an all-new--and simpler--species.
For greater simplicity and sustain, the SZ features a fixed bridge (S guitars feature more complicated double locking trem bridges). For even more sustain and as well as upper fret access, the SZ features a set-in neck. In addition, the SZ features thru-body staggered stringing which provides a more consistent feel from string to string--and, of course, more sustain.
"The SZ is one of several Ibanez forays into new territories for 2003," said Shogo Hayashi of the Ibanez Electric Guitar Division. "It's the perfect guitar for players who want plug-in-and-play simplicity, comfort, and the tone of a mahogany body with a set-in neck and humbuckers--all at a reasonable price."
