KRK Systems, LLC. unveiled a significantly enhanced model lineup at the 2003 NAMM Show comprised of four new monitors, spanning several of the company's product segments.
The Expose Series: E8T and E7T Near Field Monitors
From its industrial design to its cutting-edge components, KRK's E8T was purpose-built to be the ultimate near-field monitor. Highlighted by its linear frequency response and beautiful stereo imaging, the E8T features two symmetric discreet+ e power amplifiers and newly designed crossover circuitry. A double-woven Kevlar woofer provides commanding bass.
Rounding out the E8T's list of new feature is a Tioxid 5 tweeter that matches titanium for mass and stiffness, but offers superior damping qualities for extremely impressive highs.
The E7T was designed and engineered for the smaller mixing environment. Its tight, controlled low end and extremely clear high end are a great solution when space is less than adequate for a larger format studio monitor. Equally at home in a project studio or a post production facility, the E7T features discreet power amplifiers, an electronic crossover, an inverted dome Tioxid tweeter and a double-weave Kevlar woofer.
The New KRK ST8 and ST6 Value-Priced Near Field Monitors
With the introduction of the ST8, KRK introduces the next generation of industry-standard project studio monitors. Featuring cutting-edge design, an all-new 8" aluminum woofer and 1" silk tweeter, the ST8 offers exceptionally accurate, smooth response and high power handling, without producing ear fatigue. Standard magnetic shielding makes placement simple in virtually any studio environment. The ST8 also features 7/8" MDF construction to control sound reflection and standing waves within the monitor, while its double-layer anodized aluminum cones offer extremely low distortion. Carefully molded woofer beauty rings improve midrange frequencies while advanced dual-port tube designs create improved air flow for rich, solid bass response.
Combining stunning performance with a new, compact cabinet, the ST6 takes traditional KRK technical leadership and affordability to desktop workstations, offline editing suites and any environment where precision audio is the requirement. The ST6 monitor features 7/8" MDF construction to control sound reflection and standing waves within the monitor and a double-layer anodized aluminum cones for extremely low distortion. Like the ST8, this model features molded woofer beauty rings that improve mid-range frequencies, while advanced dual-port tube designs create improved air flow for rich solid bass response. Standard magnetic shielding makes placement easy in any studio environment. The ST6 features a frequency response of 62Hz to 20kHz +2dB; 100W of power; standard 5-way binding post and 1"silk dome (HF), 6.5" aluminum/1.5" voice coil (LF) drivers.
