New Graham Nash 000-40Q2GN Limited Edition Model from Martin
January 16, 2003
C.F. Martin & Co. pays tribute to Graham Nash with the 000-40Q2GN limited edition signature guitar. This model completes the trilogy of Martin limited editions in honor of Crosby, Stills & Nash, one of the groups that have formed the foundation of Nash's long career. Crosby's model D-18DC was introduced in 2002, and Stills' D-45SS was unveiled in 1999. This guitar follows the release of Graham Nash's solo CD "Songs for Survivors" (Artemis Records).
Graham Nash is nothing short of a Renaissance man for the modern age. Without question, he is one of the most enduring and seminal figures in popular music, with a groundbreaking career that first brought him international fame as co-founder of the chart-topping British invasion pioneers The Hollies. Nash went on to become respectively 1/3 and 1/4 of two of the most influential and long-lasting groups in rock and roll history -- Crosby Stills and Nash (with whom he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997) and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. Both legendary configurations continue to record and tour together today.
He is dedicated to working on behalf of social and political causes. Coming of age in the revolutionary 1960s, his music, through CSN and CSNY, has often been called the defining voice of that turbulent generation. Nash remains a relentless activist for positive change. Nash is also an accomplished solo recording artist, as well as a celebrated visual artist. A lifelong photo enthusiast, he is increasingly acclaimed for his own photography that exhibits in galleries and museums around the world.
The 000-40Q2GN features top, sides and back of solid quilted mahogany. The 14-fret one-piece neck is of solid genuine mahogany with a solid square tapered headstock. The black ebony headplate is adorned with a brilliant red heart with mother of pearl wings. This personal insignia of Graham's is inlaid beneath the mother of pearl Martin script logo (without "Est. 1833"). Graham Nash's signature is inlaid in gold pearl between 17th & 20th frets.
The interior label of each guitar will be personally Signed By Graham Nash & C. F. Martin IV, and will be numbered in sequence with total.
The edition size is limited to a specific ordering period to close on April 16, 2003. After the order period closes, the size of the editions and the names of participating dealers will be posted on the Martin website.
