New Bolt-On Cirrus Basses Announced at NAMM

Cirrus 4 Mahogany
(Click for a close-up)
January 20, 2003This year's Winter NAMM show brought four new bolt-on Cirrus bass guitars from Peavey, available in 4-string and 5-string models with the full-bodied warmth and quiet active electronics of the Cirrus Series. These new bolt-on Cirrus models were designed to make the Cirrus sound and feel accessible for conventional players.

Continuing the Cirrus tradition of offering unique, tonally balanced wood combinations, the Cirrus Bubinga features a walnut body and neck, striking bubinga top and rich wenge fingerboard. The Cirrus Mahogany is constructed with a solid mahogany body, walnut neck and pau ferro fingerboard.

All four new models include on-board, active three-band EQ with bass/variable mid/treble boost and cut, two internally active VFL pickups, dual-compression finger bridge, 18 Volt low impedance output and 24 frets.

The new bolt-on Cirrus bass guitars will be available from Authorized Peavey Dealers in 2003.
