Peavey introduced the KOSMOS PRO processor, an expanded version of the original kosmos unit, at the Winter NAMM show in Anaheim.
The KOSMOS PRO is a low frequency energy and stereo image enhancement system that produces low end while adding clarity and definition to any audio source.
The KOSMOS PRO surpasses the original with new sound control options such as STRATOS, which adds clarity to the upper high register, and Barometric Shift, which tunes the XPANSE range. Other new controls include a Deeper switch for altering the THUD range and a Dynamics control for tailoring QUAKE for tight or loose response. Switchable Input/Output meters make matching levels simple and accurate.
The QUAKE sub-harmonic generator analyzes the source material's bass frequencies, then generates additional low frequencies an octave lower without muddying the sound. THUD provides an additional bass boost an octave higher than the original bass track to fill in and fatten the low end, while XPANSE intensifies the left-right stereo image to add improved separation, atmosphere and clarity.
The KOSMOS PRO will be available in 2003 from Authorized Peavey Dealers.
