January 20, 2003At the Winter NAMM show, Peavey Electronics Corporation introduces the new TransTube 100 EFX amp head and TransTube 110 EFX combo amp, designed to offer the "push back" qualities of a tube amplifier while utilizing solid-state construction.
Peavey's TransTube EFX Series pairs TransTube technology with nine built-in digital effects in an easy-to-use interface. Choose from traditional effects such as chorus, reverb, delay and flanger, or more radical effects like octaver, phaser, touch wah, tremolo and rotating speaker. Three programmable settings allow the user to create customized effects for instant recall.
Each channel has its own three-band EQ for adjusting the amp's tone, while a three-position Lead channel voicing switch (vintage, modern and high gain) and a Clean channel voicing switch (vintage and modern) add more opportunities for cranking out distinctive sounds.
Peavey's exclusive TransTube technology emulates the sound of tube amplifiers without the hassle or cost of dealing with unpredictable tubes. The TransTube preamp tailors the gain level for any amount of drive, and the power amp responds to the preamp with natural compression that increases with the amp's volume--just like a tube output section. Peavey's patented T.Dynamics lets you dial the actual output of the amp, locking and maintaining a specific power amp at any volume level.
The TransTube 100 EFX HD and 110 EFX will be available from Authorized Peavey Dealers in 2003.
