January 20, 2003

With the DSP3000 M-Port ST Audio releases an advanced and yet affordable multichannel recording systems for both PC and Macintosh systems.

The DSP3000 M-Port package consists of the ST Audio DSP24 PCI host card paired with a high end multichannel AD/DA converter housed in a sturdy external 19"/2U rack interface. All 8 analog input channels are fully balanced and equipped with a high quality microphone preamplifier with gain controls and switchable phantom power. In addition, every input channel provides a separate insert connector. The 8 analog outputs are also fully balanced. Both input and output levels can be monitored via built-in real-time LED level meters. Both the AD and DA converters provide audio quality with 120dB dynamic range (a-weighted) at up to 24bit/96kHz.

In addition to the 8 analog input and 8 analog output channels, the system provides 2 channels of digital I/O in S/PDIF (optical and coaxial) as well as AES/EBU format - up to 24bit/96kHz. Two independent MIDI outputs (32 channels) and one MIDI input (16 channels) are provided as well.

Like all current ST Audio recording cards, the DSP3000 M-Port package comes with extensive driver support for Windows 98/ME/2000/XP, incl. support for ASIO 2.0 (ultra-low-latency) and GSIF. The drivers have multiclient functionality that allows use of the different driver models (MME, ASIO 1.0/2.0, GSIF) simultaneously. The card also works on modern G3 and G4 Power Macintosh Systems under Mac OS X using ST Audio's Core Audio drivers. This ensures cross platform support for famous audio applications such as Logic Audio, Cubase SX, GigaStudio, Nuendo, SONAR, Peak VST, Spark XL, Live, Reason or Samplitude just to name a few. In addition, Windows software from Emagic and Sonic Foundry is shipped with the card: Acid XPress 3.0 and SIREN XPress 2.0 by Sonic Foundry as well as a special 24bit enabled version of the Logic Audio recording software called Logic SoundTrack 24.
