Stanton Teams with Native Instruments to Create Final Scratch 1.1 for OS X

January 21, 2003

In a move designed to enhance the power and convenience of Stanton's Final Scratch software, the company has teamed up with software developer Native Instruments (NI) to delver new Final Scratch 1.1, powered by NI's popular Tractor DJ software engine.

This powerful new version of Final Scratch now not only lets DJs mix and arrange thousands of songs from their Mac or PC hard drive in real time using standard turntables with special vinyl control disks, but also provides optimum sound quality, refined scratching effects, an enhanced user interface with drag-and-drop capabilities, imrpoved search functions, and compatibility with the widest possible variety of audio files. It is also fully compatible with Apple's OSX--fast becoming the operating system of choice for many DJs and music pros.

"Stanton is convinced that software will be playing a more important role in our industry this coming year," said Gerard Cohen, president of Stanton. This is why we've invested so much in Final Scratch, and why the partnership with a music software pioneer like Native Instruments is such an important step. We have the greatest regards for what Native Instruments has accomplished, and we believe this will be a very powerful marriage of technologies and talents."

Final Scratch (version) retrieves any and all standard audio files from a computer hard drive, including MP3, WAV, AIFF and even audio CDs. It allows easily searching and assigning of music to either (or both) turntables, and provides a visual representation of the music with exact markers. Virtual Record Boxes with an improved Search function allow for easy arrangement and sorting of music. And integrated track mixing and track organization further enhance this impressive package.
