TC Electronic has introduced the P2 Level Pilot -- a Set&Forget Level pilot and Limiter for the Post Production and Broadcast industry. Single stroke Level Control for any user and perfect Level confidence with Total Lock ability makes the P2 Level Pilot the ultimate choice for anyone concerned with audio dynamics -- experts as well as operators not specialized in audio.
The P2 Level Pilot comes factory loaded with a host of international standard presets ensuring compliance to audio standards, maximum loudness, spectral balance and total level confidence. The presets can be used out of the box, or tuned by an expert user. PC ICON software provides detailed access to all parameters for editing and creating tailor-made presets. Settings can easily be cloned to other P2's for anyone to use, including custom defined multiple level Lock functions and editing possibilities.
The P2 Level Pilot features 5-band Compression, a Stereo Width Enhancer, an AGC with adaptive time constants, Detail Expansion (DXP) Mode and a BrickWall Limiter, a new broadband precision limiter built from all-new technology introduced on the System 6000 Multi-channel Processing Platform in Spring 2002. The BrickWall Limiter uses up-sampling, 48 bit processing and adaptive time constants to reduce intersample peak level and distortion. This way the main reasons for distortion during reproduction in consumer equipment can be eliminated at the source, hence improving the sound quality at play-back level. BrickWall limiting complies with NTSC, AES/EBU and SMPTE standards.
It also offers up to +28dBu/+26dBu on analog Input/Output levels, Sample Rate Conversion possibility, 48 bit Stereo and Dual Mono processor for maximum internal headroom, 24 bit A/D and D/A converters as well as syncronization of Wordclock, AES/EBU or S/PDIF signals.
