Trademark 200 Gets Revamped Before Release

(Click for a close-up)
January 27, 2003

Originally introduced in January 2002 with 200 watts, Tech 21 increased the power of its Trademark guitar amp head to 300 watts before commencing production. Accordingly, the name changes to the Trademark 300. In response to the preferences of the marketplace, the head now has a modern, industrial look. To keep vintage rockers happy, however, Tech 21 is including the initially presented, classic cabinet face design as part of the package. Players can then just swap the faces to suit the theme of their gig or their own personal mood changes.

The 3-channel Trademark head is designed for the player looking for a traditional stack rig, without being locked into one particular amp style. All features will remain the same: three independent, identical preamps with a choice of California, British and Tweed amplifier styles. Each channel has its own Drive and Level controls, as well as 3-band active EQ ( 12dB). Incorporating Tech 21's proprietary SansAmp technology, the 100% analog Trademark 300 provides a broad range of tube amp sounds and the flexibility to create your own custom sounds.

Other features include Boost function (up to 9dB) for solos, SansAmp XLR Direct Out, series effect loop, parallel effect loop with Mix control, buffered tuner output, and parallel speaker outputs. The included footswitch utilizes any standard 1/4" instrument or speaker cable. Powered via the cable, batteries are not required. Tech 21's smooth, silent-switching custom actuators change channels, activate the Boost function, and engage each of the 2 effect loops. The self-contained electronic chassis is removable and can be mounted (with an included kit) into a standard 19" rack.
