Waves Releases Renaissance Maxx Bundle with New Channel ProcessorRenaissance Channel combines EQ, comp/limiter, gating, and more January 22, 2003
At Winter NAMM, Waves announced the release of the Renaissance
Channel, a complete channel processor with true double precision operation for maximum
fidelity and artifact-free audio. Renaissance Channel is a part of the new Renaissance Maxx
Bundle that also includes the Renaissance Compressor, Equalizer, Reverberator, VOX, Bass,
and De-Esser.
The Waves Renaissance Channel, designed in response to user requests, includes vintage
modeled EQ and compression inherited from the critically acclaimed Renaissance Equalizer
and Compressor, selectable EQ/Dynamics ordering, and independent sidechain configuration
of routing and filtering for compression and gating. In addition, the Renaissance Channel
includes overload protection and stereo rotation, taking the concept of channel insert to the
limit.
The Renaissance Channel equalizer features consistent filter response over the entire audio
range, with two user-selectable compression curves -- one taken from the renowned
Renaissance Compressor, and the other from the Renaissance VOX processor. With true
double precision processing in both the Native and TDM versions, the internal processing bus
always has the definition required to handle any input signal without artifacts or internal
distortion, while overload protection ensures there is no output clipping. The entire stereo
stage can be rotated, controlling the level balance without affecting center channel sound. In
addition, sidechain routing and filtering can be configured independently for the gating and
compression components of the processor.
The result is a powerful channel processor with full channel insert capabilities. Adding
analog sound to the digital workstation free from internal or output clipping, the Renaissance
Channel maximizes efficiency, with appropriate use of DSP time slots and inserts, and
efficient automation control.
Included in Renaissance Maxx and Platinum, Renaissance Channel supports Macintosh
OS9/OS X and Windows.
As part of the Renaissance Maxx Bundle, the Renaissance Channel joins an array of industrystandard
Waves components to constitute a complete audio toolkit with emphasis on
precision and sweetening. Waves' exclusive technologies offer support for sample rates up
to 192 kHz for most components, and all offer the award-winning Renaissance sound and
intuitive user interface.
Renaissance Maxx Bundle will be available in February 2003. It is offered in Native and TDM
versions. The Native version supports RTAS, AudioSuite, VST, MAS, and DirectX formats on
Windows PC and Macintosh OS9/OS X platforms. The TDM version adds support for
Digidesign's ProTools TDM format on Windows PC and Macintosh OS9/OS X platforms.
The MSRP for Renaissance Maxx TDM is $1200 and $600 For Renaissance Maxx Native.
