Yamaha Guitars fills a need for durable, compact bass and guitar products with the Winter NAMM 2003 debut of the BA10 Bass Amplifier and AA5 Amplifier.

Designed as a practice amplifier for bass players, the Yamaha BA10 Bass Amplifier features a 7-Watt amp and single 4" speaker. The lightweight (9 lb.) single-input unit also features controls for volume, treble and bass, a boost/gain switch and headphone jack for practicing. Roadworthy construction makes the BA10 ideal for transporting to practice sessions and gigs. The unit carries an MSRP of $119.99 and is currently available.

The Yamaha AA5 Amplifier is an innovative, versatile, portable stereo digital amplifier with a wide variety of uses. Constructed of high-impact polypropylene, the cube-shaped AA5 features a 4-Watt amplifier and dual 4" speakers. In addition to a single 1/4" TRS input, the AA5 also contains a stereo miniphone aux input that will accept a CD or MP3 player--great for plugging in a CD player and playing along with your favorite licks.

A single line output allows two AA5 units to be daisy-chained together, and each cabinet may be pole-mounted to create a small-format P.A. system.

"These are truly unique products," states Joseph Brasler, marketing manager, Yamaha Guitars. "The BA10 is an answer to the requests for a bass-oriented practice amp, and the AA5 is a fun, inexpensive way to jam anywhere, and is the perfect practice or performance companion for Yamaha's Silent Guitar Series, as well as portable keyboards or other electronic instruments. They're a compact, inexpensive solution."

The AA5 may be powered for up to 60 hours with four AA batteries. Accessories include a carrying strap and DC adaptor. Slated for March delivery, the AA5 carries and MSRP of $119.99.
