The Winter NAMM 2003 introduction of the P60 digital piano from Yamaha.

The 88-key P60 includes the same GH (Graded Hammer) action found on more expensive Yamaha digital pianos. In this exclusive action design, the weight or resistance of the key becomes gradually heavier from the top to bottom registers, emulating the touch, feel, and response of an acoustic grand piano. The P60 contains 32 notes of polyphony, and a selection of some of the best voices available today, including stereo sampled pianos, electric pianos, strings, harpsichord, vibes and pipe organ, thanks to Yamaha's AWM (Advanced Wave Memory) tone generation. With the Dual Voice feature, two voices may be combined.

Connections include MIDI IN/OUT/THRU. A built-in 20W/side speaker system and Yamaha's acclaimed digital reverb to add the ambience of a concert hall to your home.

"The P60 is the perfect piano for the beginner or long-time player who wants a lightweight, portable instrument," states Athan Billias, marketing director, Technology Products. "It's also great for the customer who either doesn't have the room, or want the financial commitment, of a larger instrument. With the Graded Hammer action, you'll learn proper piano technique, so making the transition to an acoustic piano will be effortless. It's the 'right start.'"

The P60 carries a remarkable MSRP of $899 and is currently available in black (P60) or silver (P60S) finishes.
