Access Unveils New Virus OS at Winter NAMM

January 16, 2003

Demonstrating what they call "a commitment to true product evolution," Access Music unveiled Operating System 5.5 for the Virus C Series synthesizers, along with OS 4.8 for the discontinued Virus B Series and OS 2.1 for the Virus rack classic.

OS 5.5 features "Sync Xtreme," Access' new adaptive LTB (Linear Time Base) synchronization algorithm. The internal clock resolution has been improved dramatically and the Virus locks to an incoming MIDI clock up to 400% faster. Every single sound parameter including the modulation- and delay-effects can smoothly follow dynamic tempo changes.

"Store to Flash" enables users to overwrite the existing 768 factory ROM presets with their own sounds and is available for the Virus B and C Series.

Furthermore a versatile copy FX function has been added to 5.5 along with other improvements.

The new Operating System versions will be available for free download at www.access-music.de
