New SX300 Series Amps from Carvin

January 24, 2003

(Click for a close-up)

At Winter NAMM, Carvin introduced their SX300 series of guitar amps, consisting of a rackmount preamp, combo, and head.

All SX300 models feature three channels: CH 1 LEAD with HIGH GAIN switch, CH2 LEAD with Blues switch and CH 3 CLEAN. Channels 1 and 2 incorporates the tube sounding SX drive and tone controls. Channel 1 includes the added High Gain switch for over-the-top crunch. Channel 2 features the Blues switch for a blues tone with added midrange. Channel 3's clean output remains crystal clear.

All three channels take advantage of Smart Effects memory recall. You have 4 different effect choices for each channel. Smart Effects automatically stores and recalls your settings when you switch between channels. The independent Reverb switch gives you a preset reverb that you can have on all 3 channels and is separate from the Smart Effects. This gives you the ability to add reverb to any channel and any effect setting. The 4 button FS44 analog footswitch for all SX300 products is an ideal way to remotely switch between channels and bypass Smart Effects.

Amplified models feature 100W output.
