Eventide announced that the v2.0 software upgrade for Eclipse is now available. This major software upgrade to its Eclipse digital audio effects processor is available for $99 from Eventide, or download from the company's website at no charge. All new units will ship from Eventide with v.2.0 resident effective January 20th. The new release features two new algorithms, a program compare function and performance enhancements. The Eclipse v.2.0 operating system builds on Eventide's long-standing tradition of continually developing new high-quality software enhancements to add value to current products. The two new algorithms, the DynamicDistortion and Predictive Vocoder modules, add even more functionality to the Eclipse's arsenal of renowned Eventide pitch change, reverb and special effects program presets and brings the number of algorithms to 84. By modeling analog distortion types based on a proprietary curve-fitting process, the DynamicDistorition module produces characteristics that are highly responsive to the input signal. The Predictive Vocoder, meanwhile, creates a vocoder effect using a high-resolution physical model of the human vocal tract. Also new on Eclipse v.2.0 is a program compare function, that allows for fast and easy comparison of effects during editing, as well as significant enhancements to the system's performance. The Eventide Eclipse is built on a dual-engine platform that is configurable in series, parallel, stereo or dual mono. It offers up to five times the processing power of the company's legendary H3000 series Ultra-Harmonizer in a package half the size. The Eclipse is the replacement for the H3000 and includes many of the most popular effects, which have become standard production tools. Developed using input from both artists and engineers alike, the Eclipse features a robust, yet easy-to-use interface that includes a comprehensive search engine for rapid program/preset selection by category or application. Quality construction throughout, featuring heavy-gauge, all metal faceplate, solid, positive-action controls, sharp, and bright display.
