New '59 Esquire from Fender's Custom Shop

January 22, 2003

Out of all of the Fender Telecaster family instruments, the Esquire is probably one of the most desired guitars by respected players in every musical field. Its unique circuitry and "biting" rear pickup created a "merciless, maniacal, tone-machine" when first introduced in 1950. The weapon of choice by such greats as Jeff Beck and Bruce Springsteen, this guitar re-emerges again and again in the hands of many of today's great guitar players.

The Custom Shop has painstakingly researched original instruments to be able to offer an exact duplicate of the 1959 Esquire, including its rare "top-load" bridge (the strings are loaded through the back of the bridge plate instead of through the body). The result is one of the most responsive and resonant guitars Fender has ever built. Available in White Blonde and Black. US MSRP starts at $2,889.99.
